Dr. David Varney grew up Waterloo, Iowa and received his bachelor degree in biology at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa in 2007. Dr. Varney then completed his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry here in Chicago in 2011. During his time at ICO, Dr. Varney received numerous awards, clinical honors, and scholarships. Dr. Varney holds memberships in the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Varney joined the Solo team in 2019.

Dr. Varney has called Chicago and Bridgeport his home since 2007. During his free time, Dr. Varney likes to stay fit through CrossFit and various athletic activities. He also enjoys craft beers, whiskeys, Chicago sports and spending time with his wife and dog.
